Traction alopecia can be a potentially irreversible form of hair loss. It is caused when hair fibers are strained over a period of time from extensive pulling. Causes generally include tight weaves, tight clips or pull backs, curlers, beading, and hair extensions. Naomi Campbell is an unfortunate example of how bad traction alopecia can be. She was known to weave her hair. If you suspect you might have traction alopecia, first stop the cause and the seek treatment right away. There are several treatments available, and I’m always glad to help. Contact me at Ryan@Nehair.com for more information.
